The Coach
Dan Gabbert has over 20 successful years in the business world in many different roles. Dan's move to coaching began when he realized that professional success does not always equate to personal satisfaction. Finding one's personal "reason for being", however, is the beginning of personal satisfaction, which leads to professional success every time. The move to coaching came easily and now it is Dan's passion to bring personal and professional success to his clients.
Dan has sold multi-million dollar deals, worked for Fortune 100 companies, created and grown teams, worked in start-ups and family business. He has negotiated deals with companies such as Wal-Mart, Sears, AT&T, KU Medical Center and over 30 others. His understanding of people, their agendas, and appealing to the sense of "right", has endured as a characteristic throughout his business career.
In 2003, while working for IBM, Dan began his coaching training in one of the top coaching programs in the world. Having coached IBM executives, employees and independent clients, Dan has a wealth of knowledge, understanding, patience, and drive that he brings to each coaching relationship.
Although each client is unique, the foundation built over the last 20 years of business relationships and the past 4 years of coaching and leading teams is the solid foundation for KC Transitions Group. Additionally, Exit Planning training through the leading exit planning organization in the country, The Business Enterprise Institute, has added ownership and exit planning to Dan’s arsenal of processes and tools.
Dan continues to read constantly on topics such as psychology, coaching, goal setting, relationships, business success and the occasional fiction novel. Continuing education helps to keep any good professional (coaches included) at the top of their game. Would you go to a doctor who hasn't been to training since leaving medical school? No? So why work with a coach who is not continuing to grow and improve? Dan continues to work with other coaches and programs to extend his knowledge and skillset for the benefit of his clients.
Dan and his wife Jo Anne have been married for 16 years, have 2 wonderful children, and live a relaxing life in the Kansas City suburbs. When not involved in coaching baseball, volleyball, softball or other family activities, Dan enjoys reading, playing golf and relaxing with family and friends. Dan is an avid wine collector, focusing on California and the Northwestern U.S. for most of his collection.
